HEART FILLED HUMP DAYS FINAL WEEK

HEART FILLED HUMP DAYS FINAL WEEK

The study and dissection of the heart will be a lifelong pursuit for me. I can never mark it off my ever growing to-do list and move on.

Not after what was shown to me.

Not after the way it was show.

Not as a recovering Pharisee.

“This people honor me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.” (Mark 7:6) If you frequent my blog this may sound like a broken record but it is one I must continually break.

I come in contact with the temptation to go through the motions and give God less than every piece of my heart constantly. I have every opportunity to let the door of my lips fly open while the gates to my heart rust and become increasingly hard to open. I know the same is true for you too.

We barely started to scratch the surface to the depths that is our hearts and all scripture has to say about it, but I hope you’ve been stirred. Stirred to look deeper not only into what God has to say about the heart but at your own.

I laid out 3 simple goals in week one.

  1. Examine our own hearts in ways we never have.
    • As we do, let’s invite Christ into every place. Those exposed and those that are hidden.
  2. Ask God to examine our hearts in ways we’ve never asked.
    • What do you see Lord?
  3. Draw near to God with our whole hearts.
    • May we learn to run quickly to our Father’s lap for the intimacy and closeness we long for, knowing there we are loved and accepted.

Like this study, these goals aren’t exactly the type we can check off as completed through a six-week series on the heart. They are lifelong.

One of the most devastating conditions we can suffer from physically is a heart condition. The same is true spiritually. Our hearts must be looked after, checked-up on, and examined often.

Thank you for joining the past six weeks! If you enjoyed this series and you’d like to continue, let me know.
