LORD, WHAT DO YOU NEED ME TO DO TODAY?

LORD, WHAT DO YOU NEED ME TO DO TODAY?

When I asked the Lord this recently, the answer came in the form of a chime. A friend texted me only minutes after my question and asked if I would be available to come over that day. Of course I wanted to see her, but I’d already made plans for my day. I bowed my head and audibly asked,

The tug to abandon my plans was overwhelming, so I grabbed my keys and headed out the door. I arrived at my friends house and after exchanging hugs I asked,

“How are you doing?”

Her response left my heart aching.

“I have a brain tumor.”

She’d found out only days before. The pain of the news was still fresh. Sitting next to her at the doctor’s office that morning I silently thanked God for leading me.

I’m so glad you changed my plans Lord.

I was exactly where I was supposed to be. People need comfort and love. They need Jesus desperately and many don’t even know it. These people are all around, especially during at Christmas time. This holiday season, I pray God will open our eyes to their plight.

Where does He want you to be today? What does He want you to do?

I admit, I should be asking these questions everyday in my own life. I pray He will use us and even change our plans at the last minute if necessary. When He does, may we be willing to go at a moments notice, certain, that He knows exactly where He needs us to be.
