HAVE I NEGLECTED YOU?

"I'm your audience, Callie. I need you to keep writing. God speaks to me through you."

My dear friends comments cut deep but I needed them to. I'd asked for feedback regarding my website content recently and she did what true friends do. She was honest.

Like Spring's recent arrival, her words breathed new life into my heart. They reminded me that winter is over for now and there is work to be done.

I hadn't considered lately that my words could be to her as a cool sip of water during dry days.

That has always been the reason I write. She is the one I write to. And, even if alone she is worth it, but I don't believe she is. As mothers, wives, and women we all have barren places that need moistening.

Only God's words can fully quench our thirst. With mine, I simply strive to remind us of His life-giving and life-sustaining words. Words that in the darkest hours of my life, have kept me. I strive to speak from the heart and be transparent about the infertile places of my own heart expecting that you have them too.

Outside, the grass will soon need cutting, the bushes trimmed, and the hardened soil tilled. My house will need a Spring cleaning. And, so does my heart.

So does my writing.

With that in the back of my mind and my friends words at the front, I decided my website needed some sprucing of its own.
